Professor Zahir Irani, the Head of Brunel Business School is pleased to announce that two more grants have been awarded to BBS.
OASIS — Openly Accessible Services and Interacting Society – Feb 2012 to Jan 2015: Dr Habin Lee, Dr Vishanth Weerakkody and Dr Ramzi El-Haddadeh. Grant Total €154,992. Total Project Funding from EU is € 1,926,767.
The OASIS project will facilitate access to information, public services and economic promotion by grouping online services in a unified portal following a user-centered logic. By federating services in a unique environment, the project will enable public administrations to utilise information from customers and businesses and adapt public services (e-services) to better meet the needs of citizens and businesses.
LiveCity — Live Video-to-Video Supporting Interactive City Infrastructure - Mar 2012 to Feb 2014: Dr Habin Lee, Dr Vishanth Weerakkody and Dr Ramzi El-Haddadeh. Grant Total €170,461. Total Project Funding from EU is € 2,259,149.
The aim of the LiveCity project is to empower citizens to interact with each other in a more productive, efficient and socially useful way by using high quality Video-to-Video communication over the internet. Video-to-video technology is used in the project to demonstrate how public sector services can be improved in five key areas: healthcare, city administration – smart cities, education, transport and cultural experience for tourists.
This represents another success for our world-class researchers and adds to the flourishing activities of Brunel Business School six world-renowned centres of research:
